How much does a new roof cost in Jacksonville?
It depends on what we measure at your home: roof size and pitch, deck condition, the number of penetrations and valleys, material disposal, and access. Do I need a permit to replace my roof in Florida?
Yes. Every roof replacement in Florida requires a permit from your local building department, and the county signs off on the finished work. We pull the permit on every job. It is included in your estimate, it protects your home's title and resale value, and it is not optional.
What is the Florida 25% roof rule?
Under the Florida Building Code, if more than 25% of a roof section is repaired or replaced within 12 months, that section generally has to be brought up to current code. It is why a large repair often becomes a replacement on paper. We walk you through where your roof falls during the free assessment.
How long does a roof replacement take?
Most single-family homes are torn off and re-roofed in one to two days once materials arrive. Permit approval before that varies by county. You get a realistic start date with your written estimate, not a guess.
What is a free roof assessment?
One of our owners gets on your roof and assesses its real condition: shingles, flashing, ventilation, gutters, and deck access points. Then we walk you through exactly what we found. It is a straight answer about where your roof stands, not a sales pitch and not a formal written report. Always free, for every homeowner.
Should I repair or replace my roof?
Repair when damage is isolated and the roof has real life left. Replace when leaks recur, shingles are at the end of their lifespan, or the work area triggers the 25% rule. We tell you which one applies during the free assessment, and if the answer is neither, we tell you that too.
What happens if you find rotten decking during tear-off?
The deck is checked board by board after tear-off, and damaged or rotted decking is replaced before anything goes over it. Deck replacement terms are set out in advance in your written estimate, so there is no surprise change order on job day.

What warranties come with a 7V roof?
Two, both provided in writing at project completion: the Owens Corning Standard Product Limited Lifetime Warranty on the shingle materials, and the 7V 10-Year Limited Workmanship Warranty on the installation. If something fails because of how it was installed, we come back and fix it.
Why do you only install Owens Corning Duration shingles?
Because installing one system extremely well beats installing five systems adequately. Duration architectural shingles have a wind-uplift performance record that fits Florida code requirements, and standardising on them means our crews know every detail of the system they are building. No learning curve on your roof.
Why does attic ventilation matter so much in Florida?
A poorly vented attic cooks shingles from below and lets humid air condense against the roof deck, ageing a roof years ahead of schedule. Balanced intake and exhaust is checked on every 7V assessment. Leo, one of our owners, has 15 years in construction, primarily insulation and building envelope systems, and treats ventilation as part of the roof rather than an add-on.
Do you handle insurance claims?
No, and we want to be straight with you about why. We are roofers. We know roofing. We will give you an honest assessment of your roof's condition. What we will not do is make promises about your insurance policy. That is between you and your carrier. Claim advocacy is not something we offer, and we will not pretend otherwise.
