Most roofing contractors do not publish their process, because publishing it means being held to it. We wrote the 7V Standard down specifically so we could be.
Seven steps. None of them optional. None of them skipped based on job size, weather, timeline, or how busy we happen to be. If you are paying for a roof, you are getting the full process: documented, permitted, and warranted.
What happens on every job.
Assessment
Before we quote anything, we get on your roof and assess its real condition: shingles, flashing, gutters, penetrations, ventilation, and deck condition where accessible. You get an honest, straight answer about where your roof stands.
Estimate
Everything we found, and everything we propose to do about it, goes in writing. You will know what materials are being used, what labour is included, and what the scope covers before you sign anything. No verbal estimates and no ranges.
Permit
We pull a building permit with your local municipality before we touch your roof. It protects your home's value, it puts the work on record, and it keeps us accountable for the installation.
Tear-Off & Deck Evaluation
The old roofing material comes off completely. Then the deck is checked board by board, and damaged or rotted decking is replaced before anything goes over it. Deck replacement terms are set out in advance, so there is no surprise change order on job day.
System Installation
The Owens Corning Duration shingle system installed in the correct sequence: drip edge, underlayment, ice & water shield at the vulnerable points, starter strip, shingles, proper flashing at every penetration, valley and transition, then ridge cap.
Cleanup
Magnetic sweep for nails, debris removal, gutters cleared, and a final walkthrough. Your property should look better than when we arrived. Cleanup is part of the job, not an extra.
Warranty
At project completion you receive two documents: the Owens Corning Standard Product Limited Lifetime Warranty on the materials, and the 7V 10-Year Limited Workmanship Warranty on the installation.

The permit protects your investment
When you sell your home, unpermitted work creates title problems. A pulled permit means the work is on record, signed off, and legally documented.
The deck evaluation extends roof life
A new roof installed over damaged decking will fail early no matter how good the shingles are. Catching deck damage before installation is how a long-life roof actually lasts.
The warranty is only as good as the install
Manufacturer warranties are voided by improper installation. Our workmanship warranty exists because we stand behind how the roof was built, not just what is on it.
